Share some spooky fun with your friends and neighbors this Halloween and leave them a “Boo Basket” featuring non-candy treats from OOLY. “Boo your Neighbor” is a simple pay-it-forward or random act of kindness idea that brings a sense of joy, inclusivity, and holiday warmth that is priceless. Boo-ing is a wonderful tradition to start in your neighborhood and is a fun and easy way to celebrate the month of Halloween. There are some variations on how people do it, but the basics are the same: Put together a goodie basket of Halloween treats for a neighbor, then they do the same for another neighbor, and so on and so forth. Below are the basics of “How to Boo Your Neighbor” … let the Halloween Boo-ing begin! Time Duration: 20 minutes Skill Level: Beginning OOLY Products Needed: Other Items Needed: Directions:
Step 1: Select a Halloween themed basket, or a container of your choice. Line the bottom with tissue paper to bolster the contents.
Step 2: Fill with OOLY treats! We suggest the following: These are just some ideas of items to include in your Boo basket. Feel free to select your own OOLY favorites based on your neighbor’s age and interests. Other non-OOLY Boo suggestions include light-up necklaces and bracelets, food items, or other Halloween-themed goodies. There is no wrong way to Boo your neighbor, so get creative and add any other treats you think your neighbors would enjoy.
Step 3: Decorate your Basket with cellophane wrap and complete by tying a bow with Halloween-themed ribbon.
Step 4: Don’t forget to include the rules on how to Boo your neighbor. OOLY created a free printable to color and personalize for the recipient.
Step 5: Discreetly deliver your “scare package” to the house of a friend/neighbor who hasn't been booed yet. Don’t let them see you! Guessing who Booed who is part of the fun!
