Just like a cute headband or a flowy scarf, accessories make everything more fun! The same goes for planning. We all know that daily planning or journaling helps us stay organized. But, it doesn’t have to be daunting when you have the right planner accessories. Improve your planning prowess with fresh, new, and colorful pens, pencils, and notebooks from OOLY, along with these expert tips and tricks.

More Planning, Less Stress

For me, planning is the key to less stress in the week ahead. And I’m a very visual person so writing down all of my weekly tasks and goals puts me at ease. As a parent, we find ourselves with new job titles that we never expected to have. Which hat will you be wearing today? Teacher? Cafeteria chef? Teacher? Janitor? Peacekeeper? The list goes on and on. Let’s all pause for a moment and give ourselves a round of applause for stopping on a dime and pivoting to do this or that 24/7, 365 days per year. Not to mention, we often take on more than we can sometimes handle. So, how do we avoid missing a single event, practice, or recital!? By keeping everything organized in our unique, customized just-for-you planners! hand putting tape on planner pages on wooden table with colorful pens next to it

Planners are for kids too!

Don’t forget to get the kids involved in the planning and journaling process too! I wish that I started journaling earlier in life. It probably would have helped me keep my school work and after school activities organized. More importantly, I could have written my feelings down in daily entries instead of bottling them up. All of us, even kids, encounter tough times at some point in our lives. When my planner is organized and decorated, I feel relaxed. Maybe it’s just color-coding specific categories with scented neon highlighters, or adding some flair with fun and fancy stickers to my page, or perhaps it’s underlining the top priorities with glittery gel pens. Planning and journaling are non-negotiable for me, so why not make it fun too?! To help you relax, get creative, or add color to your day, here’s a round-up of the cute and cool journal and planner accessories to get the whole family involved in the planning process.

Planner Pens with Panache

Modern Writers Gel Pens

These are seriously my favorite everyday pens. You will find them all over my house because I love them that much. First, I like to use these for my daily layouts and color-coding my family’s activities. There’s a color for my husband and one for me to keep our busy schedules straight. These are also my go-to pens for meal planning. fountain pens next to april 2020 planner pages

Fab Fountain Pens

First of all, I love the mismatched caps and bases on these fountain pens! These pens have that glide for longer journal entries--perfect for a daily recap or gratitude journal. The fountain pens give you that old school feel that what you have to say is really important, plus they come in modern colors—the thin carefree line pairs well with the thicker, more bold planner marker. december planner pages with colorful pens on white background

Yummy Yummy Scented Glitter Gel Pens

These bring me back to my childhood… where we had fewer responsibilities. The best thing about these glitter gel pens is that they don’t bleed like the ones we had many years ago. This is a HUGE deal for me, guys. Why? Because I HATE smudges in my journal (I may be a little bit of a neat freak.) By the way, these pens are perfect for teens and young adults journaling.

Planner Markers with Moxie

Seriously Fine Markers

These felt tip markers are my favorite to use when tracking habits, money, and moods. These markers are so colorful, and their “seriously fine” tip makes it super easy to fill in tiny squares or bubbles. They come in a wide array of colors, from magenta to fiery orange to emerald green, so that you can choose from plenty of options. These are also great for outlining boxes, doodling in the corners, etc. A must-have!

Make No Mistakes Erasable Markers

I like these markers because the erasable capabilities are exceptional! Like I mentioned above, with my neatness preference, it’s nice to be able to erase something if I messed up or wanted to erase something off my to-do list page. Their bold color is fantastic, making them a must on my desk! pastel highlighters next to planner page
