Pencils, colored pencils, crayons and markers all work great. If you're using heavy markers, slip a sheet of paper behind your page in case of bleed-through.
How do I know which age a product is for?
Every product page and package lists a recommended age. As a general guide, many of our crayons, markers and paint sticks start at 3+, most craft kits start at 6+, and fountain pens are 12+.
Are OOLY products safe for kids?
Yes. OOLY products are tested by independent, accredited labs for CPSIA, ASTM D-4236 and ASTM F963 standards. The recommended age is listed on every product page and package, and you can learn more on our safety page.
